Program of Studies

 The Leicester High School Program of Studies supports our core values and beliefs in order to foster personal growth and lifelong learning in a safe, healthy, positive, and diverse environment. We prepare students for the future by:

  • Challenging all students with a rigorous curriculum
  • Teaching higher-order thinking skills
  • Requiring self-assessment and reflection
  • Employing meaningful assessments
  • Providing varied learning opportunities
  • Promoting good character

Our courses are designed to promote 21st Century Learning Expectations so that students will communicate effectively, problem- solve effectively, create meaningful products, use technology effectively, collaborate effectively, and exercise responsible citizenship.

District Curriculum Accommodation Plan

Purpose: Meeting the Needs of All Learners

The Leicester Public Schools is committed to supporting inclusive education for students. Massachusetts General Laws require the adoption and implementation of a District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP). This plan is intended to guide principals, teachers, and staff in ensuring that all possible efforts are made to meet student needs in general education classrooms. Graduation Requirements and Competency Determination

Massachusetts state law requires students to satisfy both local graduation requirements and the requirements of the Competency Determination to graduate from high school.
