Mr. Smith is an Adjustment Counselor for All Students at LHS

He is a professional licensed mental health counselor and a knowledgeable and confidential resource available to all students at Leicester High School. Students can self-select to meet with Mr. Smith or staff and administration can refer a student to him. He is able to meet with students for any presenting concern, including interpersonal or familial issues.
If you believe your son or daughter may be having a difficult time dealing with a personal, social or emotional issue please feel free to contact Mr. Smith or encourage your son/daughter to seek him out.

If you need assistance with a family matter and you're not able to find the resource to assist you please contact the Guidance Office and we can refer you to an organization that may be able to help. Below are some helpful links for services that your family may need assistance with including homelessness and loss of income.

This site offers assistance for families regarding homelessness, food stamps/banks, SSI, Veteran's Assistance. Click for the link to the Worcester Resources page. For a list of free medical clinics in the area, hours of operation, interpreters available, and services provided click on Worcester Area Free Clinics.

These sites offer medical assistance for low-income or no-income families in the greater Worcester area. This link lists the Free Walk-In Medical Clinics in the area. This site is for the
Family Health Center in Worcester offering medical and dental care. There are also free or sliding scale fee services provided by Planned Parenthood of Central MA.

Resources for domestic violence, assault and homelessness include New Hope Center and YWCA of Central MA.There is also a 24 hour domestic violence phone resource available through the YWCA at 508-755-9030. Housing, shelter, and advocacy services for women and their children is also available through Abby's House in Worcester, MA.

The Foodsource hotline is available 24 hours a day to help families identify places that they can access a soup kitchen or food bank. The number is 800-645-8333.

Information and assistance in dealing with substance abuse and alcoholism can refer to the service directories provided above as well as too Alcoholics Anonymous or Al-Anon or Alateen services for family members of alcoholics or substance abusers. New State Behavioral Health Help Line:


The Department of Mental Health has launched a new Behavioral Health Help Line that people can call or text at 833-773-2445. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in more than 200 languages. The help line can help individuals and families navigate the behavioral health system and access treatment, including mobile crisis services. District and school leaders are asked to please share this resource with staff, families, and students, where helpful. For more information, please see the FAQ.
