Senior Guidance Curriculum

SENIOR GUIDANCE CURRICULUM

The Leicester High School Guidance Department will develop and deliver a comprehensive program that will assist senior students with finalizing their Post-Secondary Plans. This curriculum and research will follow the completion of the junior curriculum with implementation of the components of the Post-Secondary Plans which have already been developed. These plans may involve college or vocation/technical school applications, employment applications, enlisting in branches of the armed forces, etc.

Delivery of School Counseling Services:

The Leicester High School Guidance Curriculum includes the following developmentally appropriate services for grade 12:

• Senior classroom visits with instructions on college application process.
• Information regarding SAT administration.
• College and Vocation/Technical School Fair.
• MEFA Financial Aid Information Night.
• FAFSA Help Nights.
• Ongoing monitoring of grades and credits toward graduation.
• Ongoing development of Post-Secondary Plans.
• Individual counseling.
• Consultation with students, teachers and parents.
• Academic monitoring and advising.
• Outside referrals when appropriate.
• SIN: Student In Need Team
• TAT: Teacher Assistance Team for academic support and referral identification.
• Schedule and Educational planning.
• Regular communication with parents/guardians via email, phone, mail and websites.
