Junior Guidance Curriculum


On Wednesday, Jan. 27, we met with the Class of 2022 to discuss the post-secondary planning process and advise them on the steps needed to be taken to set themselves up for the application process during their senior year.  Click on the picture, to open the presentation.

The Leicester High School Guidance Department will develop and deliver a comprehensive program that will assist junior students with ongoing post-secondary planning. Guidance Counselors will assist students with college research through individual and group instruction and through online programs. Other post-secondary options including vocational and technical schools, employment and military service will also be explored.

Delivery of School Counseling Services:

  • Grade 11 College Compare and Research through Naviance
  • Junior meetings with instruction on college application process.
  • Information regarding PSAT and SAT administration.
  • College and Vocational/Technical School Fair
  • Junior Parent Information Night.
  • On-going development of Post-Secondary Plan.
  • Individual Counseling
  • Consultation with students
  • Academic monitoring and advising
  • Outside referrals when appropriate
  • SIN: Student In Need to support at risk students
  • Schedule and Educational Planning
  • Regular communication with parents/guardians via email, phone, and website
  • Individual consultation for request senior year courses.
