School Attendance Guidelines
Please see the tab on the right for "Guidelines for Keeping Your Sick Child Home".

Promoting A Partnership
Parents/guardians have a major role in the health and well-being of their children.  It is important for the school nurse and parents to work together to provide a healthy learning experience for every child. Parents can assist by:

* Sending in completed annual health forms
* Updating emergency telephone numbers and contacts
* Obtaining annual immunizations and physicals yearly as required
* Communicating with the school nurse any health concerns/changes with their child
* Calling their child in when absent
*     Keeping their child home when sick

Medications in School
Medications may be administered at school by the school nurse with a written order from a licensed health care provider and parent permission. Please see the "Medication Forms" tab on the drop down menu above.  This includes both prescription and over-the-counter medications and forms need to be updated every year.

State-Mandated Immunizations
State law requires students enrolled in the Leicester Public Schools to have proof of immunization as defined by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH).  Children who are NOT in compliance may be EXCLUDED from school. Religious and Medical exemptions are accepted but must be renewed in writing annually.  Please speak to your school nurse if you have any questions regarding your child's immunization record and/or click the following link:   https://www.mass.gov/doc/immunization-requirements-for-school-entry-0/download
