Tracey Hippert, Principal

Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Welcome to Wolverine Country!

I am proud to be part of a school community driven by its commitment to core values and beliefs about learning.

In its quest to help students prepare for future endeavors, Leicester High School compels students to communicate, problem-solve, use technology, and collaborate effectively while creating meaningful products and exercising responsible citizenship.

We are proud to be a 1:1 school and to have expanded our foreign language, STEM/PLTW, arts, and music programs. These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to developing 21st Century learners, thus preparing our students to embrace their bright futures.

Sincerely,

Tracey Hippert Principal M.Ed.

Leicester Public Schools Embraces the U.S.A.-China Educational Exchange

The U.S.-China Principal Shadowing Project (PSP) provides a unique opportunity for school administrators to learn about and observe one another's educational systems from close up. The partner visits provide the opportunity to discuss future opportunities for student and faculty exchanges and joint educational projects.
The project involves a two-part commitment:
In April 2014, the principal of Leicester High School, Mrs. Hippert visited China for two weeks. During that time, she attended educational seminars, shadowed seven schools and experienced tourism in Beijing and Shanghai. The purpose of the trip was to learn about secondary education and educational reform, as well as observe the roles and responsibilities of school administrators in China. In November 2014, Leicester will reciprocate and host Mr. Liang principal of a 7-12 school from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Provence, with 3000 students and 210 teachers. He will visit each of the Leicester schools.
November 9, 2014, Mr. Liang arrived in Boston, Ma., along with nine Chinese administrators. They will attend lectures on American education at local universities, schools, and at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). They will then shadow their partner principals on the job for a week.
Future work to enhance the program:
Leicester Public Schools will:
  • Seek host families for approximately five Chinese students for spring semester (visit vclerkin@gphomestay.com if interested)
  • Develop global competencies throughout the district.
  • Prepare students to think globally, communicate effectively and to contribute responsibly.
